What is LEV?

Local Exhaust System (LEV), popularly called dust of fume extraction, is a way of controlling dangerous substances in the air that takes form of dust, mist or smoke. The system limits exposure to hazardous particles and prevents from developing occupational diseases thru workers.

Why do I need LEV testing?

For safety of any worker that might be exposed to air contaminated by dangerous substances. As well it is legal requirement to comply with regulation 9 of CoSHH 2002
§ Maintenance, Examination & Testing of Controls. All Local Exhaust Systems (LEV) should be thoroughly examined & tested at least once in a period 14 months by a competent person. This is to ensure that your system remains effective at control.

What does LEV testing involve?

Examination of equipment – dust hoods, filters and ducts
Measuring air flow, pressures, density of particles around workplace
Creating report and discussion of rest results
